The EDC is committed to fostering economic growth and sustainable development. We work to attract new businesses, support existing ones, and improve residents' quality of life through strategic initiatives and innovation.
This is what we do.
Deep River’s Economic Development Commission is a dedicated team of local volunteers focused on strengthening the town’s economy while preserving the historic charm and small-town character that our residents value. Guided by the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), the EDC works to support thoughtful growth that enhances opportunity without compromising what makes Deep River special.
How We Work
As an advisory body, the EDC works closely with the Board of Selectmen, the Planning & Zoning Commission, and other town boards to provide recommendations that support sustainable economic growth.
Economic Focus
The EDC encourages businesses, entrepreneurs, and property owners to invest in Deep River. We support a diverse range of economic drivers including:
Small and independent retail
Restaurants and hospitality
Arts and cultural organizations
Professional services
Light manufacturing
Home-based businesses
Tourism connected to the Connecticut River Valley
